The method of manually adding balls mainly has the following shortcomings:

(1) Because the uncertainty of the amount of ore required for the production of the automatic ball adding machine is very large, the daily output has very large changes, which can be as high as 2500T\/D and as low as 1500T\/D. When the amount of ore changes, At this time, it is difficult to add balls according to the ball consumption ratio specified in the process using the manual ball adding method. It may also be impossible to achieve the ball consumption ratio required by the process, which will affect the grinding efficiency or be higher than the ball consumption ratio, resulting in a waste of steel balls. Take the main grinding mill as an example: the amount of steel balls added every day is 135 (4.04Kg\/piece, total: 545.4Kg), and the total number of balls added in 3 shifts is 1636.2Kg. According to the ball consumption ratio of 0.76Kg\/T required by the process, it is calculated: When the output reaches 2500T\/D, the amount of steel balls that should be added is: 1900Kg. When the output is 1500T\/D, the amount of steel balls that should be added is: 1140Kg. It can be concluded that when the output is high In the process design, insufficient addition of steel balls will also lead to a reduction in grinding efficiency. When the output is less than the process design, too much addition of steel balls will cause a waste of steel balls.

(2) There is no accurate data basis for manual ball addition, and there is no accurate statistics on steel ball consumption at this stage. There is a situation where less is added and more is added.

(3) It is difficult for the automatic ball adding machine to manually add steel balls on time, which will lead to a reduction in the grinding efficiency or a waste of steel balls in the current period. Taking the main grinding of a system as an example: once at 8 o'clock in the morning, the grinding machine In addition to the amount of steel balls currently in the team, the next shift should add steel balls to the mill again at 16:00 to ensure the grinding efficiency of the mill. However, due to the influence of other factors, the team will add steel balls late at 16:00 The grinding ball cannot be used for 1 hour or even more than 2 hours, so the grinding efficiency will be reduced during this blank period.
